3D Gummy House – Woolworths

3D Gummy House

You might remember a few weeks ago I reviewed the Coles Belgian Chocolates which are gluten free by ingredient but not labelled gluten free. I don’t often do this as ingredients can change. By sticking to reviewing gluten free labelled products there is a bit more certainty that it’ll be gluten free when you pick it up as well. However, there have to be a few exceptions around special occasions I think. You all loved my review of the Coles Christmas characters and today I’m reviewing another gluten free by ingredient product. Say hello to the 3D gummy house available at Woolworths. You’ll pay $5 for the gummy house which you should be able to find in the Christmas section. Although, my store had these in the bakery department with the gingerbread houses.

For allergens, it contains sulphites and may contain traces of milk. Other ingredients basically include lots of sugar, pork gelatin, citric acid, coconut oil and fruit flavours. Inside the box you’ll get a rather small cardboard house template. Also you’ll need to slot all the pieces together too so I’d say adult assistance would probably be required. The instructions on the back are reasonably clear which is good. For once I won’t really be focusing on the flavour of the product I’m reviewing. These are lollies, they aren’t the nicest I’ve had – they taste pretty much like over gelled sugar. The idea of this product though is some Christmas fun.

In terms of the template I found it a little unstable. Definitely put it on a tray or something before starting ‘construction’ because you’ll be building around the house too. I think if I hadn’t have eaten some of the 3D bricks during building I would have had just enough to fill all the gaps. However, if you are wanting more you can buy these adorable 3D brick gummies from the normal lolly aisle all year round. The blocks do click together quite well as long as the lollies have a good shape. A few of mine were a bit wonky and melted which was awkward.

So my final thoughts – would I buy this again? no. However, this isn’t designed for me. It’s designed for kids to have some fun, kill some time and then eat the house. You won’t be able to keep this out on your dining room table until Christmas like a gingerbread house. Can you say ants? These will make adorable christmas stocking stuffers though and will keep the kids occupied for a few minutes before they demolish and devour their creations. Especially for the price these are a fun gimmick to bring smiles to faces.
