Coles Waffle Cones

So a while ago now Coles released their own brand of Waffle Cones. I was going to review them last summer but time got away from me. However, with our forecasted summer heat I thought it was the perfect time to upload this ice cream companion. The pack of 8 will set you back $3.50. As a quick note before we get into the heart of the review. A large amount of the packs will have broken cones. They don’t seem to hold up well to shipping. You would be best to test packs a little otherwise you’ll get shards. That could be disappointing. I do a gentle shake and listen to hear if any pieces, don’t shake them hard or you will break them.

Starting off with ingredients as always these contain Soy and list no may contain. Other ingredients if you have further intolerances include tapioca flour, potato flakes and coconut oil. They are a decent sized cone. You’ll find them more like the Altimate or Scoop Star ones than the Eskal and Woolworths. These are light and without too much flavour which makes them the perfect companion to any flavour of ice cream. They have a nice crunch and texture too. In all honestly, I really love these cones and for the price they would be my number one pick. However I’ve only ever gotten a maximum of three non-broken cones in a tube.

While this isn’t ideal I use the broken pieces as ice cream topping. Mostly the cones have broken into larger pieces like in the photo below so they’re still nice. Since the Scoop Star ones are getting harder and harder to find and the Altimate ones aren’t stocked close by these are perfect for any last minute cravings. I have emailed Coles about the breakage issue so hopefully they can find a way to fix it. Although it has been a while since I first bought them and no fixes have been implemented. I know many of you enjoy the Coles waffle cones and it’s not hard to see why. If you haven’t tried them be sure to head to your local store and pick some up.

Well now you know about these cones, you can find reviews on something to put in them right here. Alternatively, you can check out all the product reviews you can find at Coles on this page. I hope you all stay cool during this summer heatwave.

  1. Hi There – love all your reviews

have you tried the Woolworths ‘free from’ waffle cones?
smaller than the Coles version – but has a more formed top edge and I find less breakages inside the new packet

we have been trying the Aldi Coconut Ice cream in salted caramel lately with our cones lately

    Happy New Year
